Edmonton Proposal Location #1 Muttart Conservatory:

One of the most spectacular Edmonton proposal locations would by far be the Muttart Conservatory. Located deep in the city’s North Saskatchewan River valley, it boasts some of the city’s most beautiful views of downtown from it’s rooftop amongst the four glass pyramids. This makes for stunning cityscape images for the trendy downtown lovers.

Edmonton Proposal Location #2  Botanical Gardens:

Head downstairs into the conservatory and you will find some of the most diverse and lush indoor botanical gardens in the area, setting the perfect backdrop for any earth loving couple! The Devonian Botanical Gardens, just west of Edmonton, is also a wonderful location. It features 80 acres of gardens including a Japanese garden, and an indoor tropical butterfly house!

Edmonton Proposal Location #3  Whyte Avenue:

If you and your significant other are all about the hustle of busy streets, Whyte Ave. could be the place for you! With a mix of older character buildings as well as newer pubs and restaurants, this bustling avenue has a wide variety of cool places to plan a date, including to some of the yearly festivals and art walks! Unique murals, brick walls and decorative lights create the perfect artsy setting for the hipster couple.

Hawrelak Park is one of our top Edmonton proposal locations for the more outdoorsy adventurous couple, without leaving the city limits! With dozens of river valley trails to explore by foot or bike, as well as paddle boats in the summer and a variety of picnic spots, you can’t go wrong with planning a simple date and a surprise proposal here! If you’re timing is right you can catch one of the cities many festivals too. Or, if winter’s more your season, the park also features the magnificent YEG Ice Castles, as well as skating ponds and cross-country skiing!

Edmonton Proposal Location #5 Mactaggart Sanctuary:

Now if you’re really looking to get off the beaten path, Mactaggart Sanctuary is the perfect place for you! This 2.3-kilometre trail is located on the south side of Edmonton, nestled down amongst Whitemud Creek. Unlike the more maintained river valley parks, this trail system has some steep inclines and truly gives you a sense of being one with nature as you are surrounded by thick forest and the creek.

Edmonton Proposal Location #6 John Walter Museum:

For those who love a little bit of history, the John Walter Museum is the perfect place for an engagement! Also found in the river valley inside Kinsmen Park, this location has a variety of historical buildings you can explore, as well as the beautiful grounds perfect for an afternoon picnic! Another great historical place to propose is Fort Edmonton Park, which also happens to be a popular city attraction with it’s steam train, fur trading fort, and a 1920’s ferris wheel, carousel and penny arcade.
